Job Description:
The purpose of the role is to originate and execute Islamic transactions in the corporate finance and capital markets arena viz. syndications, debt capital markets, structured trade finance, project finance, shipping and aviation, leverage finance, financial market products etc.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Work closely with Client Relationship teams and Product units across SCB network to originate transactions in the Corporate Finance, Capital Markets, Financial Markets space
Market /pitch to clients with senior transactor
Manage end-to-end deal execution including deal structuring, preparing termsheets, negotiating terms with client, securing mandates and dealing with external / internal legal counsel to develop and review facility documentation.
Seek guidance /secure approvals from the Bank's Shariah advisers to ensure that the transaction remains in line with Shariah compliance requirements.
Assist in negotiations with Islamic invenstors (Banks/FIs) to syndicate and distribute transactions.
Build relationships with support departments to manage operational processes.
Maintain market intelligence on different markets where Islamic products are offered and track competitor moves.
Co-ordinate with Product Development unit to launch PPGs and Country Addendums in key target markets.
Qualifications and Skills
3 years relevant experience in Relationship management or corporate finance/capital markets
Graduate degree in business/finance
Knowledge of Islamic banking preferred
Arabic speaker preferred
